The Yamaha R3 isn't just about aesthetics; it's the heart-pounding performance that truly sets it apart. Nestled within its lightweight chassis lies a potent 321cc [cubic capacity] liquid-cooled, parallel-twin [inline-2] engine, delivering a harmonious blend of power and control.
The legend Ruled the segment of 300cc in India from 2015 [launch year] until Yamaha officially announced that the much-loved BS4 Yamaha YZF-R3 has been pulled off the shelf in India and won't be available for 2020. The BS4 version hadn’t received much change since its launch, aside from the addition of dual-channel ABS and Metzeler Sportec M5 radial tyres
Expectantly, the legend is entering the Indian market after 3 years, creating huge hype, as Yamaha announced the launch of the YZF-R3 and MT03 recently.
The all-new R3 comes with a well-new design and technology, giving tough competition to the other bikes in the segment [both price-wise and engine-wise], and the price of the R3 in India is estimated to be around 3.5–3.7 lakh (INR) (ex-showroom).
The short specifications of the new R3 is as follows:
It is a sharp-handling SPORTS TOURER with a new liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, DOHC inline twin-cylinder 4 valve engine which produces around 42 Bhp @10750 rpm and 28.8 nm of torque @ 9000rpm having a 6-speed transmission.
It almost weighs 170 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 14 liters. It also wins the hearts of the riders with a seat height of 780mm which enables even the short riders to ride and control it easily, also having a ground clearance of 160mm.
The bike is also said to come with dual channel ABS , traction control , 37mm KYB USD forks, all digital console.
The bike is capable to touch a top speed of 180 kmph (as per on road testing of the previous R3 models , ignoring the speedo errors ) by achieving 0-60kmph in 2.89secs and 0-100kmph in 6.0secs.
However;the new R3 models are to be launched in india around September 2023 following the BS6(phase 2) norms
